Class #1: How does your garden grow?
Encouraging young minds and moms and dads (or grandparents) to grow healthy together. Gardening can encourage family bonding, creativity, science and math learning, respect for nature and healthy living. Come learn Heather's tips for raising a healthy family, based on her own upbringing, her degree in Health, and her own family. This is an interactive family event for parents and preschoolers!

Location: Lake Highlands Community Garden
Lake Highlands Community Garden is located on City-owned property
behind the Environmental Health Services (old armory) building located
near the intersection of Goforth and White Rock Trail. The address is 7901 Goforth Rd. Dallas, TX 75238.

Class #2: Take a Bite of This!
Know and encourage healthy food choices as a family. Learn and identify good, better and best food choices and encourage young families to grow healthy together. Your kids can learn to love vegetables, and you can stop the short order cooking. You'll all be healthier for it!

Class #3: Planting Seeds of Change
How and what to plant for a successful Fall Family Garden. Why letting the kids participate will help them be more willing to try new foods. Have a fun family hobby that encourages a lifetime of healthy living.
Date: August 14th
Time: 9:00 a.m. -10:30 a.m.
Location: Lake Highlands Community Garden or Dallas Eco-Op depending on temperatures. We will alert the class the week of the course.
Cost: $20/family

Heather Rinaldi – Texas Worm Ranch’s Founder and Chief Worm Rancher will explain just how easy vermicomposting can be and its benefits and potential impact on communities.
