I hope this blog is helpful to attracting the native worms to your gardens. Remember to always keep your raised beds mulched in organic material (straw, leaves, etc.) and that will really help. Not sure where you are at, but some worm compost added to your beds before mulching would help attract those native, burrowing worms too. Keep chemical free, keep mulching, and keep "feeding" your soil with compost and the worms will find you!Comment on How to attract Deep Burrowing earthworms to your yard and gardentag:blog.txwormranch.com,2010-03-11:2902429Michaelhttp://www.wormspit.com2010-03-11T21:04:54Z2010-03-11T21:04:54ZHowdy! I have enjoyed reading your blog and looking through your website. I'm new to vermicomposting - the worms I've been raising since 2001 aren't really worms at all, but caterpillars (silkworms). I'm particularly interested in encouraging deep burrowing earth worms - we have some in parts of our yard, but not much in others. The raised beds in particular are wormless, and I'm hoping for some diggers to keep things there loose and fluffy.Comment on Welcome to the Texas Worm Ranchtag:blog.txwormranch.com,2009-09-13:2424915Heather Rinaldi2009-09-13T15:52:27Z2009-09-13T15:52:27Z
Thanks for your inquiry and for visiting the blog.

Yes, you can come purchase worms here at "the Ranch". It is probably best to talk over the phone first, so we can determine your specific needs. Let me know what you think you might want to order and feel free to ask questions, I want to help make your vermicomposting experience a positive one!

Can I drop by and purchase worms in person?Comment on Welcome to the Texas Worm Ranchtag:blog.txwormranch.com,2009-08-28:2385434JJ Pair2009-08-28T22:33:02Z2009-08-28T22:33:02ZAs a fellow gardener of Heather's I can tell the world I've met no other person who consistently grows the most delicious, healthy and beautiful veggies and flowers! To boot, she is also consistent in her knowledge of organic treatments when dealing with creepy bugs (eeeeeeww!) and is always willing to lend an assist.

As to her Worm Wine, pour it on baby, watch the beanstalk grow tall enough for Jack to climb to the sky.

Oh yeh, she's really, really nice too. And smart - very cool user friendly website!

Wish you well my friend and I'll be right there with ya. But of course you know I won't handle the little wigglers, I'll just take pix. Wranglin' is your job.
